Last week, we had the honor of attending the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards as finalists in the fiercely competitive Ethical, Responsible, and Sustainable Tourism Award category. The evening was filled with anticipation, surrounded by esteemed contenders who set incredibly high standards. It was an extra special occasion as Liverpool clinched the most improved title in the Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDS-Movement), a testament to the collective dedication of our city region towards sustainability.
Standing among finalists, which included the North West’s most sustainable building, we felt a mix of nerves and excitement. So, you can imagine our sheer delight when our name was announced as the recipient of the Ethical, Responsible, and Sustainable Tourism Business of the Year award.
Every decision we make at Sunnyside Guest House is rooted in our unwavering belief in doing what’s right for our planet and our community. While we’re humbled by this recognition and proud of the progress we’ve made, we also acknowledge that there’s always room for improvement. This award serves as both a celebration of our achievements and a reminder of the ongoing responsibility we have to push the boundaries of ethical and sustainable practices in our industry.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to our guests and everyone who has supported us on this journey. Your trust, feedback, and encouragement have been invaluable, and without you, none of this would have been possible.
