Ocean Plaza Southport

The Ocean Plaza retail and leisure park Southport was first opened to the public in 2002.

The Marine Way Bridge soon followed the development of the retail and leisure complex in order to allow ease of access from Southport town centre by car and to aid the numerous footpaths and pedestrian bridges to the park. The Marine way bridge is now a local land mark and can be seen in the picture below.

The Ocean Plaza retail and entertainment complex is home to many restaurants, entertainment facilities and retail outlets. They are as follows:

Entertainment facilities at the Ocean Plaza Southport include:

  • Multiplex cinema
  • Premier Bowl- A ten pin bowling ally, arcade, pool hall and cafe.

The Marine Lake is a 10-minute walk from Sunnyside Guest House (PR9 0DP). Begin by turning right onto Bath Street, then right again onto Nevill Street. When you reach the Promenade head stright across to Marine Way Bridge. Head over the bridge and you are at Ocean Plaza.

Accessability Information

Marine Lake General: Getting around the Marine Lake and surrounding Kings Gardens should be relativly stright forward for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.

Local charity Southport Access for Everyone have been working with the council to make the area more accessible. There are now ramps in the Sunken Garden and the Bowling Green, the four shelters round the curve of the lake are accessible, there is an accessible roundabout in the play area, rails on the hump of the Venetian bridge and a safety rail on the step outside the Tea Rooms.
