Southport Beach

Southport beach is part of the Sefton coastline that stretches 22 miles across. Weather its the beach or the end of the pier Southport is a fantastic place to soak up the panoramic view of the golden sands and admire Seftons beautiful coast.

Southport Beach is well located for Ocean Plaza and Southport Town Centre so you don’t have to track for miles to find the nearest toilet or something to eat. Parking is also permitted on Southport beach during the summer months.

While water sports activities are not often found on Southport Beach there is a kite surfing zone on Ainsdale Beach and wind surfing, sailing and stand up paddle take place on the Marine Lake with introductory class also possible.

Getting to Southport Pleasureland (PR9 1SB) from Sunnyside Guest House (PR9 0DP) is a pleasant 10 to 15-minute walk. Start by turning right along Bath Street and then turn right onto Nevill Street. Upon reaching the promenade turn left , and go straight ahead until you arrive a roundabout. At the roundabout take your second exit and past Morrissons. A couple of minutes down the raod and you will arrive at Pleasureland.

Southport Beach General: While parts of the beach itself are sandy and uneven, making wheelchair access challenging, there are firm pathways leading to the seafront. The Marine Drive area also provides ramped access points, ensuring a smoother route for those using wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Accessible Toilets: The nearest accessible toilet is at McDonald’s Ocean Plaza, just across the road from the beach. There are also accessible toilets available on the way to the beach, most notibally along the Promenade near King’s Gardens.
