Double Tourism Awards Success for the Sunnyside

What a night to remember! The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards are always a highlight of our year, but this time, it was even more special—it was our first night out without baby Margot! And what an occasion to celebrate!

We were incredibly honoured to attend this prestigious event, representing The Sunnyside Guest House, and even more thrilled to be finalists in THREE amazing categories:

  • B&B of the Year
  • Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Award
  • Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award

Being surrounded by so many inspiring businesses that make our region such a fantastic place to visit was truly humbling. The energy in the room was electric, and we felt so grateful to be part of a community that works so hard to create incredible experiences for visitors. No matter the outcome, we were just happy to be there, soaking up the atmosphere and celebrating tourism excellence with friends old and new.

But then… the moment of truth arrived. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to share that we walked away with two amazing awards!

  • B&B of the Year – A testament to the love, care, and passion we pour into making Sunnyside a welcoming home-away-from-home for every guest.
  • Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Business – A recognition of our commitment to sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and responsible tourism.

This success felt even more special given that we have been running the business while looking after our new baby, Margot, who has just turned one. Balancing parenthood with maintaining the high standards we set for Sunnyside has been challenging, but we have worked extra hard to ensure that every guest continues to receive the best possible experience. Winning these awards validated all of that hard work, making this moment even more rewarding.

To say we’re over the moon is an understatement. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, as the regional winners, we now have the honour of representing The Liverpool City Region & Merseyside at the National Visit England Awards—going up against 16 other incredible regions from across the country.

We want to take a moment to thank our amazing guests, our wonderful team, and everyone who has supported us on this journey. Your encouragement and kind words mean the world to us, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to many more exciting adventures ahead—next stop, the National Finals! Wish us luck.
