Charity Ribbon Campaign to Support the Southport Strong Together Appeal

In the aftermath of the heartbreaking events of July 29, 2024, we have been deeply moved by the tragedy that has struck our community. The loss of three innocent children and the injuries sustained by many others have left us all searching for ways to offer our support during this difficult time. As we’ve been reflecting on what we can do to help. After considering various ideas, we decided to launch a charity ribbon campaign—a way for all of us to come together and help support those involved and contribute to the long-term recovery of our community.

Supporting the Southport Strong Together Appeal

All proceeds from our charity ribbon sales will go to the Southport Strong Together Appeal, a fund established by The Community Foundation for Merseyside, in partnership with Sefton Council and Sefton CVS. This appeal was set up specifically to help those impacted by the events of July 29th, providing financial support to individuals and families who are struggling with loss, injury, and psychological trauma.

The appeal also extends its reach to support local and regional charities that are offering crucial services, such as mental health care, bereavement support, and community cohesion initiatives.

How You Can Get Involved

Charity ribbons are now available for purchase at Sunnyside Guest House and other local businesses that have joined us in this effort. Each ribbon sold is a small but meaningful step towards helping our community recover.

We encourage everyone to wear their ribbons proudly as a symbol of solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. These ribbons represent the collective strength and compassion of the Southport community, showing that even in the darkest of times, we stand together.
