Nestled in the heart of Southport, the Kitchen Garden at Hesketh Park is a vibrant community space dedicated to growing fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Officially opened in 2025, the garden has quickly become a hub for local residents and visitors alike.
Sunnyside is proud to have partnered with the Bridge Inn, the charitable organisation behind the garden. Established in 2010, the Bridge Inn provides vocational training and work experience in horticulture, agriculture, animal care, and conservation for adults with learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and additional needs. Through hands-on opportunities, participants gain confidence, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections within their communities, all while contributing to a thriving, sustainable garden.
Our Sunnyside beehives are located on-site at the Kitchen Garden, where the bees play a vital role in pollinating the crops. Their work helps ensure the garden thrives, producing fresh herbs, vegetables, and flowers that form the heart of our new 2026 tea menu. Guests can enjoy teas infused with mint, chamomile, lemon balm, rosemary, and sage, all complemented by the golden sweetness of honey from our very own bees.
This partnership allows visitors to enjoy a truly local and seasonal experience, connecting directly with the flavours, aromas of the area.
