General Questions

I booked through a 3rd party. Why can't I get the same discounts/benefits as if I booked directly from you?

Unfortunately we have to pay commission to 3rd party booking websites and generally take more time to manage. In order to encourage direct bookings we always offer a better deal when you book direct with us. To make a reservation please do so through our website or call the bed and breakfasts reception on 01704 536521.

Does the B&B have a car park?

We have on site car parking available, one space per room ( please note we might not be able to accommodate larger vehicles such as vans or 4x4's).

Do the rooms at the Bed and Breakfast have their own bathroom?

Most of the room at the Bed and Breakfast have their own bathroom. When you book through our online booking facility the rooms are described as being en-suite or none en-suite.

Does the B&B accept pets?

Unfortunately we don't accept pets, however if you call reception on 01704 536521 we are happy to recommend an alternative Bed and Breakfast, Guest House or Hotel.

Does your Bed and Breakfast have disabled facilities?

Unfortunately we don't have full disabled facilities. We do have a room with grab rails in the bathroom but unfortunately we don't have a lift or ramp into the building.

Do you have a ground floor room at the Bed and Breakfast?

Yes we do have a ground floor room. Please note this room is next door to the kitchen and it may be a little noisy in the morning when we are cooking the breakfast (we do try and keep the noise to an absolute minimum).

Can you offer an evening meal?

Unfortunately we don't offer an evening meal. Within a 2 minute walk there are about 5 or 6 different restaurants. If you walk a little further there are many more eateries with a wide selection of cuisines to suit all budgets. At the time of writing (04/08/2017) there are 270 restaurants registered on Tripadvisor in Southport.

Can we book your Bed and Breakfast for one night on a Saturday. Is that possible?

In most cases this is not possible, however if you call reception 01704 536521 we can check the diary to see if we can accommodate you. If we can't we are happy to recommend an alternative Bed and Breakfast, Guest House or Hotel that might be able to meet your requirements.

Do you allow smoking or candles at the bed and breakfast?

Unfortunately we are a strictly no smoking bed and breakfast. In order to comply with the current fire regulations we are unable to allow candles or josticks to be used inside the building.

WIFI is available at the Bed and Breakfast?

We provide free WIFI to all guests when booking direct. Please ask for the password when checking in.

How old must I be to make a reservation at your Guest House?

You mush be 18 years or older in order to stay at the Bed and Breakfast. You will also need a valid photo ID (driving licence or passport only) and a credit card is required for security against the room. Each room must have at least one guest who is 18 years or older.

Questions about the location of the Bed and Breakfast

Is the Bed and Breakfast located anywhere near the centre of Southport?

The Sunnyside is located in the middle of Southport and is sandwiched between Lord Street and the promenade. This convenient location means you have the benefit of being close to all the attractions without being disturbed with all the noise of the main street.

Is the Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast located close to the theatre and conference centre?

Southport Theatre and Convention Centre are located just a 2 minute walk from the Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast

Is there anywhere to get something to eat close by?

Within a 2 minute walk you will find 5 or 6 different restaurants. If you travel a little further you will find many more. At the time of writing (04/08/2017) there are 270 restaurants registered on Tripadvisor in Southport

How do I book a room at the Sunnyside Hotel Southport?

What types of rooms are available at the Bed and Breakfast?

We have a single none en suite room, a double en suite room, a twin en suite room and a triple en suite room.

I would like to book all of the rooms for the week / weekend. Is that possible?

At the Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast we can accommodate up to 22 guests. If you would like to take over the whole Guest House for a base for a conference at the Southport Conference Centre just round the corner or a wedding please call us on 01704 536521 and we can proved a quote.

What is the cancellations policy at the Sunnyside?

Any cancellation or modification to the booking must be made at least 28 days before the date of stay. Any cancellation or modification to the booking will result in the first night or 50% of the total reservation amount being charged, which ever is higher. For reservations with multiple rooms this applies to each room. Please also note all cancellations or modifications must be made in writing, either by fax, by post or email (to Cancellations over the phone will not be accepted. Please also note we strongly advise people to take out the appropriate insurance package to cover any unforeseen cancellation fees.

What methods of payment does the bed and breakfast accept?

When making a reservation direct with the bed and breakfast we can accept payment by debit card (Visa or Mastercard only). We also accept payment by BACS when done in advance of your stay (If you would like to pay using this method please contact reception for more details). We can also take payment by cash upon arrival in some circumstances.

Checking in at the B&B

Can we check in at the Guest House early or depart late?

This might be possible for people who book direct, please call reception to find out on 01704 536521. In most cases it depends on the guest schedule the night before. For early check-ins, it is best to contact us on the day of arrival to find out. If your room is not ready to check into straight away you are always more than welcome to check in, leave your luggage and go about your day.

Can we leave our bags behind before we check in or after we check out?

Yes. Bags can be left at reception before check in and after you check out. If you wish to do this we recommend that you request in advance so we can make arrangements to hold your luggage.

Can we leave our car on the path of the guest house before we check in?

If we have spaces on the path were you won't be blocking someone else in this will be possible. During the busier times of the year we have parking permits which mean that you can park on the street for free so where off street parking isn't available we might be able to provide on street parking. If you would like to park up before you check in please call us before you book and we should be able to provide a good idea whether this will be possible.

Breakfast at the Sunnyside B&B

When is breakfast served?

Generally speaking breakfast is served between 8:00am to 9:30am on a week day and 8am to 10pm on a weekend. In some circumstances we can be flexible with the breakfast times. Please call us prior to booking if you would like breakfast outside of these times and we will try and make it possible.

What is on the breakfast menu?

We have both continental and cooked breakfast options.

The continental breakfast consists of fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals and toast.

The cooked options include Full English Breakfast, Vegetarian English Breakfast, Omelettes, Eggs on Toast, Beans on Toast, Kippers and Haddock.

Does the Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast accommodate any special dietary needs?

Generally speaking yes we can. When notified in advance we can accommodate most dietary requirements including gluten free, lactose free and vegetarian.

Is it possible to have breakfast in bed?

Unfortunately we don't offer breakfast in bed
